Heraldry Links
Given the breadth of
topics that SCA heralds covers in performing their duties, it is good to know
there is a wealth of experience, research and historical knowledge to draw.
These are just some of the
most helpful sites I have found in my travels, many of which have further links
to other valuable information. Several of them, notably Laurel’s and Modar’s
Heraldry pages have exhaustive link-lists covering the same ground, so rather
than re-inventing the wheel, I strongly recommend looking at their lists as
well!
Please feel free to email
me here if you find a link has broken, or can provide further
additional useful ones.
They are subdivided into
the following categories:
-
SCA
Heraldry administration & Book heraldry
-
Names
-
Scribes
Other Link-page Indices

James Parker’s “A Glossary of Terms Used in
Heraldry” is a late Victorian source on heraldry. It has lots of
illustrations of people's arms, but mostly it's a dictionary. If the term
is not in Parker's, you can be fairly certain that it's not been used by
English-language heralds
