On this page you will find the full Order of Precedence for the
populace of these eastern provinces.
It
is arranged by the categories of rank – the first, naturally, being those who
hold territory in fief to the Crown, and thence onto the Peerage, those with
Grants of Arms, then the Orders of Merit, through to the Awards of Arms and
non-armigerous Orders. Where two people have been awarded equal-ranking awards
on the same day, then the person with the earlier next most senior award is
given precedence. Where there can be no differentiation by award or date, the
names are listed alphabetically, though they will be of equal precedence.
In
truth, the Order of Precedence only has a significance when an Order of March
is being held at an event, where the nobility process into Court. Of course all
citizens should be shown respect and due deference at all times, and such base
qualities as ambition and pride are not worthy in a culture of chivalry and
courtesy. However, to give this page more relevance, I have also endeavoured to
include the preferred title for each person for the benefit of addressing them
formally in the Court and the Tourney. An asterisk following the name indicates
that the player has been inactive in the SCA for a number of years.
Finally,
links to the abbreviations used are here, and as ever, if
