Current
Lochac College of Heralds policy is that NZ submissions cost NZ$20 each (i.e.
$40 for a combined name and armoury submission) and can be paid into the
Herald’s bank account of the SCA-NZ (account details from your territorial
herald). A portion of that money is paid annually to the Lochac CoH to assist
with costs incurred by the scribes on award scrolls and suchlike, but mostly,
the money is being kept to provide for, and promote, heraldry within the NZ
groups
Number
of Copies required: n.b. this differs from the information on the Crux
Australis website
Name
Submission requires five (5) copies of the Name form and ALL
documentation associated with it
Armoury
Submission requires seven (7) colour copies and four (4) black
& white copies
These
are distributed as follows:
|

- 1 copy of the Name, colour Armoury and
B&W Armoury submissions |
|

Delivery
Addresses for the Submissions are:
|

Clare Baldock, 5 Cherry Tree Place Massey Auckland 0614 NEW ZEALAND |
For ASTROLABE: |
Phil Mason, Unit 19, 61 Mays Rd, Onehunga, AUCKLAND 1061 |
I’ve
recommended each submitter keeping a full set of documents to help with any
heraldic display projects you may wish to embark on.
When
submissions are processed through the territorial heralds, several copies of
each submission are made. As well as the requisite copies for Laurel and Crux
Australis, copies are retained on file with Astrolabe and the respective
territorial herald. With these, we can follow up on any queries or problems,
and also assist the groups for heraldry projects and award scrolls/blazons! Please
send the Crux Australis and Astrolabe copies separately to those respective
heralds.
When
armoury gets registered with the College of Arms, the Canon Herald deputy is
endeavouring to soon afterward get the blazon put on the Kingdom Roll of Arms.
Recently,
Crux Australis has set up a website to track all the Lochac submissions, and it
can be viewed here:
http://www.sca.org.au/herald/commentary/subtracking.php If you have any issues regarding
your submission, its status, or any mistakes you have noticed, please feel free
to contact me here and I will follow it up, correct the error and/or get
back to you with up-to-date information as soon as I can.
Although
people are fully entitled to make submissions directly to the Crux Australis
Herald, we would, instead, strongly encourage you to work through a member of
the NZ College of Heralds . They are aware of the number of
requirements needed for submission documentation and depiction (since there are
several hundred submissions coming in every month from all across the
SCA, these ease processing) and can forestall any delays or arguments from a
return due to administrative errors. Also, if any other problems potentially
arise we already have the information at hand, and can assist and advise you
the better.
With
the LoAR reference links, scroll through the list to the section headed Lochac,
for the relevant comment.
